M.I.A.

I am less than thrilled with myself as of late when it comes to keeping up on this here blog o' mine. Life has been nothing short of hectic this summer - hectic in a good way though.... Camping trips ,a trip to Wisconsin Dells, an adults only Chicago trip, basketball for Lucas, Dance classes for Ava, play dates, beach days, boat trips, and all sorts of other fun summer stuff.

I am promising myself that I will get back to posting regularly once my monkeys are all back in school and I have some "breathing room" so to speak....

BATH TIME

Scrub a dub-dub, 2 of my three little men in the tub!

I love them, and their sweet little matching mohawks.

There you have it - short n' sweet. One of these days I am going to get back to posting on a regular basis. It may not be for a few more years, when all of my monkeys are in school and not demanding my constant attention. But I WILL get back to it. I swear.

EXPLAINING MY LACK OF BLOGGING ~ AND SHOWING YOU MY GIRLS GOT STYLE

I have to start out by saying that I am nothing short of disappointed in myself as of late. I have been a very bad blogger.

In a perfect world, I would be posting every day, documenting all the fun, silly, and cute things the kids do and all the crazy things that happen in this house full of 5 kids. 'Cause believe me, I have enough material to write every single day. The problem is, I just don't have the time.

I have beaten myself up over this for the past 2 months and have finally come to the realization that it is what it is. I will write when I can, sometimes longer posts, but probably most of the time shorter ones, and for now that just has to be good enough for me.

So with that said, here is a short one.

A photo of my Liv Grace this morning, after she had gone upstairs to get herself dressed for the day. You think she likes the outfit she chose?

I am pretty confident she does, even though she forgot a very important part of that outfit. The shirt. That's my girl!

A BREAK IS IN ORDER

So here I am, not doing what I promised myself I would do, and write something on this blog every day. I know every day is a lot to ask of myself, but I really wanted to stick with writing frequently so I did not let it slip away from me. You know how it goes, you forget, or are too busy for a day, then another, then it turns into a week, a month...

But as I have mentioned in previous posts, we have been riddled with illness in the Shelton House over the past few weeks.

On Friday, I finally gave in to my bodies signs telling my to get my butt into the Dr.'s office, and got my butt into the Dr's office. I brought Ava as well, as she seemed to not be recovering from her cold either. Turns out Ava had a cold that turned into a bacterial infection, and she also had an ear infection in one ear. Poor thing. Turns out I had a bad case of Bronchitis, so bad that if I had let it go another day or two it would have turned into Walking Pneumonia. Never had Bronchitis in my life, or pneumonia for that matter, but this diagnosis seemed to fit right in with how things were going for me over the past few weeks.

Miss Ava is back at school today after being out all last week, which makes me so very happy. I am slowly getting better after being on my antibiotics for the past 3 days, but am still not feeling 100%. I am trying to be patient, really I am, but after, me, Olivia, Ava, and Lucas all being sick over the past 2 weeks, that patience is wearing thin, very thin.

On top of my patience wearing thin, I am also feeling plain old not up for much of anything, which is due to the fact I am feeling a bit gloomy because of all this darn illness running around. I don't want to cook, clean, do laundry, get up in the morning, nothing. I am not really feeling much like blogging. So I think I am going to take a little break, maybe a week or so off from my blog. Hopefully by then I will have a house full of healthy people, and my spirits will be such that I will happier things to blog about.

To my few loyal readers - See you soon!

Why not share, right?

Sharing is good.

So when I originally started this blog I had it open to the general public - anyone could read it. After some thought, I decided to make it private and only let family, and close friends read it as I thought my blog was of a personal nature and I did not think I wanted every Tom, Dick and Harry reading it.

Alright, I have to interrupt for a moment and say... "Tom, Dick and Harry" - nice, right? My gosh, as I get older I find myself saying more and more of those ridiculous sayings my mom used to say when I was a kid that drove me nuts. Ugh.

Back to my point... So since I have made it private I have had some not so computer savy people (you know who you are) find it difficult to get into my blog. I want family and friends to be able to read my blog without having troubles getting into it each day or at all for that matter, so I have decided to make it public, open to all of cyberspace. Again.

I figure what the heck, strangers may come across this blog and find it boring, or they may come across it and end up loving it. You never know....

So why not share?
